“He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.”
Isaiah 53:3
The face of Christ as it is remembered on the Shroud of Turin — eyes closed in rest, painted in blacks and whites with streaks running down like the cloth itself, marked by suffering yet at peace. A quiet meditation on the image He left behind.
